No more sexy stuff for you Cebuano fans! According to Section 19 of the Women Development Code of Cebu Province states that any person or agency who engages in shows depicting women as sex objects in private or in public place or under scandalous circumstances shall violate women’s right.

And I'm waiting how will this impact the future of Miss Cebu as it's no different when they strut their stuff with their two pieces.

Gov. Gwendolyn Garcia clarified her stand on the issue of banning bikini opens and of decency and morality.

In a meeting yesterday, Gov. Garcia met with Sta. Fe town officials led by Mayor Jennifer Illustrisimo and police officials who were present during the staging of a show last Black Saturday.

It was reported that a supposed fashion show dubbed as “Summer Pump” included sexy guest performers, actresses and models coming out of the stage wearing bikinis and other skimpy attire.

Police officials told the governor that the participants were not wearing bikinis but had only very skimpy shorts on.

“The furor that has been going back in the newspapers and the media kay kining bikini-bikini. Ang gilalisan, bikini ba to or dili… Dili ni bahin sa bikini. It is about indecency. It is about transgressing the bounds of decency.” Gov. Garcia said.

Gov. Garcia illustrated her point by using the knife to chop a cabbage and then asked on what if she will use it to stab someone.

“Ang kutsilyo, kutsilyo, depende sa gamit. Gamiton bas minaayo, gamiton ba sa dinautan,” Gov. Garcia explained.

The governor also showed a collection of her bikinis and said that she wears one in the privacy of her own home or when she goes to a resort with a private pool.

“Dili man na mahimo nga mugawas ko didto sa publiko ug kalimtan nako nga gobernador ko. Ngano? Duna naman koy giangkon nga responsibilidad, posisyon, ug kinahanglan na nako protehian. Mao nga dili gyud mo kita nako mag-bikini sa publiko,” Gov. Garcia said.

A video footage aired over GMA 7’s Balitang Bisdak was also shown during the meeting.

“Unsa kaha’y masulod sa inyong huna-huna kamong mga lalaki nga ako ning sul-obon karon? Novena? Misa? Kung duna pa unta kita’y kaugalingong konsensya ug tanlag ang nasulod sa inyong huna-huna dili simba, dili pangadye kung dili biga,” Gov. Garcia said.

Gov. Garcia said that her biggest disappointment is the failure of those who were tasked to see the clear difference on whether the event was decent or not.

“I cannot even start to imagine nganong wa na makuha ang punto niining Executive Order. Mao nga nagkinahanglan kog props karon aron makuha ninyo kung unsa ang punto. Mao nga nanghinaot ko na nakasabot mo kay kung wala pa gyud ninyo makuha, magsulob gyud kog bikini ron ug i-apil kog padakop. Ngano? Kay naghugaw-hugaw ko sa akong opisina ug ako ang hinungdan kung nganong makahuna-huna mog dautan,” Gov. Garcia said.

This confusion started when a parish priest wrote a letter to the governor seeking help for the enactment of proper laws to ban bikini shows especially during the Lenten season prompting the governor to sign an executive order last April 7.

But event organizer Elton Tiu continued the show even during the Holy Week which irked Gov. Garcia and thus prodded her to file charges against Tiu, resort owner Rommel Solomon and other people involved in the incident for violating Section 19 of the “Women Development Code of Cebu Province”.

Section 19 of the Women Development Code of Cebu Province states that any person or agency who engages in shows depicting women as sex objects in private or in public place or under scandalous circumstances shall violate women’s right.
